This policy explains how the Wepairs website uses cookies and similar browser-storage technologies.
What the site currently uses
Google Analytics 4 is configured on public pages to help us understand how the website is used. The Google tag script is loaded with each page so that Google can recognise the site, but it is switched off: it sets no cookies and sends no analytics data until you accept analytics cookies. If you accept, Google Analytics can set first-party analytics cookies. Advertising features remain disabled.
The booking journey uses sessionStorage to preserve your device, repair, store and appointment selections if you refresh or briefly leave the page. It does not put customer contact details into the URL.
Repair business listings count how often they are shown, opened and contacted (for example a tap on Call or Directions), so each business can see its own totals. If you accept analytics, these counts use a random session identifier kept in sessionStorage, so one visit is counted once per business, action and day. If you do not, the count is still recorded anonymously: nothing is read from or stored on your device, no identifier is sent, and only the total is kept.
The site may also use a localStorage entry to remember the cookie choice you make, so it does not need to ask on every visit. These browser-storage entries are used for the service or preference you request rather than for advertising.
Language translation
The language menu lets you read the site in another language using Google's website translation service. Only when you choose a language, the site sets a first-party cookie called googtrans to remember your choice and loads Google's translation script. The text of the page is then sent to Google to be translated, and Google may set its own cookies under its privacy policy. Nothing is sent to Google if you stay in English. To switch translation off, choose English from the language menu, which removes the googtrans cookie.
Essential and non-essential technologies
Technologies that are strictly necessary to provide a service you request may operate without consent. Non-essential analytics, advertising or similar technologies will not be activated unless they are configured and the required consent has been obtained.
Changing your choice
Use Cookie settings in the website footer to accept or reject optional cookies at any time. Choose Essential only to withdraw analytics consent; this stops future analytics events and removes first-party analytics cookies from this browser. You can also clear cookies and site data through your browser settings. Clearing session storage will remove a saved repair-booking journey.
Third-party websites
Links such as directions or the separate Wepairs retail website may open another provider's service. That provider controls its own cookies and privacy information.
